29th December

Well it has been a bad year for updates. The Violent Earth section seems to have taken up more time than I thought it would. Next year, I hope will be better with more photos and info. The birds don't seem to be bothered by the weather yet as it is still quite warm so not that many in the garden at the moment.

The Sparrow Hawk is still about eating pigeons by the ton.Not noticed any difference in their numbers though. The Red Kite has been seen quite a lot as it circles above in the hope of something tasty. One of my young chickens nearly found itself on the snake list. Luckily I have a very good cockeral and he made so muck noise and fuss that the poor chicken was dropped.

She was in a terrable state and I did not expect her to live, but 3 weeks in the house with TLC and she is now back outside in her own covered run. She has a friend with her, another small chicken who loves the extra treats. Even though she has only half a comb I think she will live.

There are a few rare birds on the Broads at the moment but not pictures from me I'm afraid.

I took pictures of Lions instead:)

21st July

Well July has been a wash-out so far. I have been very reluctant to take the camera out. I have taken a few photos though and managed to do some art work for the 2012 calendars There are still a few baby birds in the garden and many sightings of the green woodpecker.

Rosehips and blackberries are ready, very early. In the garden strawberries are nearly over and the apricots are ripe.

It was nice to spend a day yesterday watching dragonfly hatching. I had two that spent all day emerging from their cocoons.
